Broadband Digital Technician Certification Program
(Level 1)
Description
The Broadband Digital Technician Certification (BDTC) designation
demonstrates the Technician’s ability to install, operate, and
troubleshoot the Digital Home Communications Terminal (DHCT). In
addition, candidates must have an understanding of industry-standard
broadband equipment such as measuring signal levels, cabling and
connectors, and be able to conduct subscriber education.
Level 1 Certification is earned by
passing a 2-hour written exam. The exam is available both in hard
copy form and online via the Internet.
To successfully pass the written
examination, candidates must obtain a minimum score of 70%.
Requirements
Prerequisites are not required for any candidate. However,
SciCare Training highly recommends attendance in the
Digital Subscriber Networks Technician Training course.
The certification requires
knowledge and skills in measuring signal levels, cabling and
connectors, proper installation practices, and customer education.
