William H. Katherman

Since 1999 William Katherman has served as Vice President and Managing Director, Scientific Atlanta Asia Pacific Region. In this position, he is responsible for region-wide sales, marketing, engineering and customer support team from the company’s Shanghai location.

Katherman joined Scientific Atlanta in 1990, holding financial management positions which focused primarily on the company’s international expansion. In 1996, he accepted the position of General Manager for Scientific Atlanta’s China Joint Venture and relocated to Shanghai. Then in 1999, Katherman was appointed to the position of Vice President and Managing Director, Scientific Atlanta Asia Pacific Region. In this role Katherman spent two years in Singapore and then moved back to Shanghai, maintaining his current position.

Prior to joining Scientific Atlanta, he was with General Electric’s Financial Management Program and spent 10 years with GE in various Financial Management positions in the Aerospace and Major Appliance businesses.

Katherman received his B.S. degree in Business administration from the University of Kansas in 1980.

He has served on the Board of Directors for the Cable and Satellite Broadcasters Association of Asia, and is the Chairman of Scientific Atlanta Shanghai Company Ltd.
